MEPC - Update
- Dissemination of Information: The group discussed effective ways to share meeting information with residents. Suggestions included providing a precis of the minutes in local newsletters and encouraging residents to sign up for the Milton Park newsletter.56
- Vale of White Horse District Council Updates: updates were provided on the Local Development Order and s106 Agreement for Milton Park, which include contributions towards new cycleways and traffic mitigation measures.
- Didcot Cloud HQ and Tech Park Developments: Significant investments and contributions were discussed, including the Didcot Cloud HQ development and the Didcot Tech Park, which will bring new jobs and infrastructure improvements.
- Flooding Concerns: The group addressed flooding issues in Milton, Steventon, and Harwell, emphasizing the need for a collective approach and better data to identify root causes and mitigate future events.
- Local Village Updates: Updates from Milton, Steventon, Harwell, and Sutton Courtenay highlighted ongoing issues such as flooding, changes to bus routes, planning enforcement challenges and, specific to Milton, a suggestion that r Milton could work together with MEPC to develop a collective approach to the paddock it owns off Pembroke Lane for enhanced flood alleviation and allotments. MEPC said that it would be good to work together and explained that Milton Park has an ongoing infrastructure project to look at all surface water issues.
- MEPC Milton Park Update: provided updates on the Local Development Order, new developments, and the Signal Yard project, which includes new amenities and retail outlets.
- Travel Survey Results: The latest travel survey results were shared, indicating a slight increase in single-occupancy vehicle use due to poor weather and cycle path conditions.
- Future Meetings and Presentations: The next meeting is scheduled for April 10, 2025, with a potential presentation from Tokamak about their fusion energy work.
